  • Getting Started with the Voice Packs *READ FIRST*

So, you've just installed Voice Attack and are now downloading your new Voice Pack. Awesome! But - how exactly do you get started? What do you need to do to get everything working?
Well, there's a little bit of set-up, but it's really easy and only takes a minute! Let's see what we have to deal with:
    • 1. The first and most important thing of course is that the Voice Pack is installed directly into the sounds directory of Voice Attack ( C:\Program Files (x86)\VoiceAttack\Sounds ). This ensures Voice Attack knows where all the sound files are being stored - and can be accessed easily on-demand.
    • 2. Once installed, search for the Profiles folder contained in the pack (C:\Program Files (x86)\VoiceAttack\Sounds\hcspack\Profiles ) and decide which keybindings you'll want to use. This will most likely be the standard Keyboard & Mouse controls (even if you use a HOTAS).

Select your preferred bindings, and copy-paste them to the following directory
      C:\Users\YOUR_NAME_HERE\AppData\Local\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options\Bindings
NOTE: if you cannot see your AppData folder, it may be hidden from view - Check here for instructions on how to display it (DON'T touch the 'operating system files' option!), simply repeat the process to hide it again afterwards.
    • 3. Load up/Import your profile in Voice Attack!
      C:\Program Files (x86)\VoiceAttack\Sounds\hcspack\Profiles
    • 4. Once you are in-game, go to Options>Controls and select your preferred keybinds from the drop-down list at the top of the page.
    • 5. If you are using a Basic Profile, you're all set and ready to launch the game! If you are using a Beta profile, you will want to launch the game, but before you start pressing buttons or issuing commands, you will need to initialise the profile.
To do this, simply say "RUN DIAGNOSTICS" if you are docked at a station.
Say "SYSTEM CHECKS" if you are currently flying.

This is all it takes to get started and begin using the Voice Packs. As you can see, it takes longer to write a guide than it does to actually set up! Once you have reached this point you can issue orders to your heart's content, and start playing around, changing sounds and stringing commands together - our Voice Attack Tutorials are a fantastic place to learn the basics and start personalising your profiles.

Thank you for reading, and fly safe, Pilot!
