2.3 Packs Update Wish List
1) I reject your reality.... and substitute my own
2) Not to be used when upset... will void warranty
3) Stoke me a clipper i will be back for dinner
4) Never tell Gangrel to do anything... he will probably get it wrong

I'm going to use the "Lights On" command for my example. Currently the "Lights On" command does nothing but exit when certain conditions are met. Specifically when a user is docked or in supercruise and issues the "Lights On" command, VA shows the green circle, indicating to the user that it was given a valid, recognized command, but nothing happens, no sound, no lights on, no feedback of any kind... and the user is left wondering why the command does nothing. Typically if VA does nothing its only after receiving unrecognized commands, and seems odd for recognized commands not to have a response.
So, my recommendation/request is to create a ((RS-Negative)) command and use it inside the conditions when a command is understood, but cannot/will not be executed. This way users have some type of feedback when their command is recognized, but the AI is unable to comply with the request.
The sound files 'Unable to comply', and 'Not an option' would work really well for this.

This may not be the proper place to post this, but I feel it is important enough to post, please put into the correct location otherwise.
Because of the interrelation between Voice Attack, Voice Packs, and Windows Speech recognition, and the many hours I have spent training my mumbling to be recognized.
Could you please add a Function to Back Up the Speech Training Files on Windows?
I have found some old reference to a Windows app to backup the speech training files, but the link was dead and I have been unable to find anything to use for this.
And should anyone have a Crash or some other problem, all their training would be lost.
Thank You for kindly considering this request.

However!
Microsoft Speech Recognition Profile Tool is a valid link that i have found, and it worked for me on Windows 10 64bit....1) I reject your reality.... and substitute my own

Or Just making suggesting that ASTRA goes into "Hcspack-ASTRA" instead of just "hcspack"?
Side note: There is a limit as to how much we can do with this, and (ironically) path file names length can become an issue if there is too much nesting (as in by default it is C:\Program files (x86)\Voice Attack\Sounds\<Insert pack name here> )
The first part up to <insert pack name here> is what the Sounds directory setting in voice attack sets, so anything up to that point is up to you.1) I reject your reality.... and substitute my own

Hi Gangrel.
My suggestion is more like.
"HCS VoicePacks\characters\ (here are all the characters located)
"hcsvoicepack\applications\" (this could be all the apps used with voicepack)
I was looking at the new updates and the "multi crew" feature and here I saw that my default folder hierarchy didn't match, therefor I got a lot of errors.
Also when you expand with more voices, it would be easier to have a offical folder hierarchy of where goes where.
I hope that clarify my wish.

Might I suggest some logic checking for some of the commands? Example: I have invoke on, but have to hussle my sorry ship into a station to keep from getting scanned. I request docking and blast my way in and ignore the "Transfer power to shields" but call for gear down to use as a speed break. The logic says that the voice pack should not then ask if I want to lower the gear. Another would be if I am in the SRV, the lights have 2 modes, so I should be able to have 2 levels of lights on.
I am sure there are other areas where this logic could be useful.

the checks when docking are possible so that is something I'll add to the wanted list
The lights are a toggle though, in the ship 1 2 1 2 and in the srv 1 2 3 1 2 3. We could track it as we have in the past but it can get out of sync quite easily and something we've avoided doing in the packs for quite some time. The info has been requested to be put into the journal so as soon as it is then we definitely would do it.

It's not something I'm doing now, but one of the issues with PvP piracy is how long it takes to type out a dump cargo command... I know it's not something many of the AIs would agree with but for some of the more morally 'flexible' ones, could there be an "Issue Demands" which quickly pastes out a cargo dump demand in local chat?
Not sure how well VA can interact with the chat, and I know there's probably not many PvP pirates using the packs.. but, well this is a wishlist.

been using and expanding my voice packs, however I notice a difference in how they work in the game.
Together with multi crew, VEGA ask for docking much faster than ORION, also ORION use the prefixed key binds for the fighters, where Eden and Vega use the menus in the game.
Using the predefined keys are much better as you keep track on target.

My suggestions, I have no idea what`s possible:
1.Could we have her take notice when we buy or change a ship? Examples "Computer transferred to new ship." "I have transferred to new craft." Maybe other vocals pertaining to ship such as, "The Hauler, so we are commencing trading missions, Sir?" etc.
2. When we ask her to "Handover Departure!" Can we also specify the height such as 30, 60 and 90 metres? Sometimes, she does not rise high enough for me. Would be useful for those outside platforms. Perhaps add a "Cannot follow command as this would violate safety parameters." If in a closed environment like a station, if possible. Perhaps we can order her to disable parameters if we want?
3. Could we have her ask educational questions sessions? A questions mini-game? She asks questions from the Galaxopedia (which I LOVE using - taught me a few things) and you are required to say "yes" or "no" and she tells you if correct or not. Would pass those long distant missions and teach the Pilot a few things. Questions on scientific reality are best inmho.
4. Could we have an option to disabled her saying "Welcome!" while the game loads? I prefer waking her up once in the cockpit, but no biggie.
5. Can we have her not talk over herself if she`s already saying something? Now I have noticed that she sometimes does this as in the case when I asked her to go to maximum throttle and we were attacked, "100% Thrott- Identifying threat!" that was cool. But most of the other conversations she`ll talk over herself. Iask her to departure handover, then 100% throttle, she`ll say ask if she should "Clear the area and jump!" talking over herself. I don`t mind if she misses a speech.
6. Is it possible for her to give an appraisal of our skills and time flying by accessing the info in the game? Maybe even her opinion?
7. Ah yes, I like how she warns of pirates in a system. More basic audio on system`s situation like this would be nice.
8. More stuff to make her feel more `aware` of her surroundings and of the PILOT please.
I have a lot more, but we`ll stay with this for now....Last edited by Seafireliv; 27 February 2017, 09:36 PM.No problem can withstand the assault of sustained thinking.

Some command lists/cheat sheets would be handy. I know there's the PDF instructions in the packs, however they seem generic (in the sense that they cover commands not covered in the purchased pack). You wouldn't believe the amount of time I spent wrestling with recognition software so that 'Invocation mode on' could be understood through my thick (read: numpty) northern England accent, only to find out the function wasn't included in the pack. Fortunately by chance I accidentally stumbled across the video explains how to export the command list, so I've solved the problem, but it'd be nice to know someone else doesn't have to muck around like I did.
I guessing the requests would probably be restricted by what voice recordings you already have, yeah?
