I was having trouble with VA so I reinstalled it and then reapplied my voice packs. Now AD-Astra is not using the settings that I have configured. IE: I have turned off everything for when I jump into a system, but each time Astra will try to scan the system and the FSS scanner will come up and I have to close it and then I am told how many planets are in the system. She is also not telling me when I have scanned a terraforming planet or world. I have removed everything and reinstalled, but I can't seem to fix it. Is there a settings file I can delete, or do you have instructions on how to remove VA and the voice packs from the PC/Registry?

Those settings (the auto scanning in a system) are saved in the profile itself, so if you just reinstalled VA then chances are the settings are getting re-integrated with the importing the profile (its how we do profile updates as well btw)
Delete the profiles that you want to be replaced afresh (using the VA UI to do this: With the active profile, click the +- button and choose "delete profile".
Do this for all the profiles that you want to start afresh from (you cannot have 0 profiles in VA though, this is a VA limitation in itself though), so if you don't use one of the other profiles (ie MSFS2020 for example) remove all the others apart from the MSFS2020 one.
Then you can reinstall the voicepacks / open the HCS Customiser and click "check for updates" and this will *reimport* all the profiles from afresh (and if the profile was not present at the time of importing then "default" settings will be applied).
Note: AD-ASTRA *does not* do the scanning on jumping to a new system, that is something that is in the "base" profile settings (Its called "explorer mode" and its under "Extra Content" IIRC )1) I reject your reality.... and substitute my own

Thanks for the quick response, I will give it a try. I understand that the "Honk" isn't part of AD-ASTRA, but it's one of those things that is check marked and doesn't work. I had everything working just fine until I decided to reinstall Windows for a SteamVR issue and then the troubles began.... Thanks again.

All the honk does is press the secondary fire (by default, but this can be changed in the customiser -> Keyboard control section). If it is bringing up the FSS, then check your ingame bindings as well.
Remember to restart VA / swap VA profiles after you have made an ingame change to your bindings.
Also: If you are in Odyssey, then all 4 sections have to be pointed to the same custom control scheme.1) I reject your reality.... and substitute my own

I followed your instructions and reinstalled everything again. I still have two problems, 1. what would cause AD-Astra not to tell me when I scan a terraforming planet? The only check I have are for terraforming planets. 2. I know you said that the D-Scanner only works on the secondary fire button, but I have had my bindings set for Odyssey since it came out and Astra was working on the primary button without issue. Would there be a setting I may have selected that would have allowed this to work on the primary?

The only thing that I can think of is that you might be thinking about the "Stars and Planets" section in the Extra content part of the HCS Customiser and not AD-ASTRA directly.1) I reject your reality.... and substitute my own

When I use the FS Scanner to detect the planets in the system AD-ASTRA would tell me if a certain planet was terraforming or not, she would say, "You have discovered a terraforming high metal content world" now this doesn't happen even if the planet is terraforming. (In the AD-ASTRA settings I have selected only terraforming bodies). If I fly to the body and fire probes to map it she will tell me if I have found biological or geological signals.

The only thing that sprigs to mind there is that there is a stuck journal file then. AD-ASTRA hasn't been updated for a while, so if it was working (and it was fully up to date at that point in time) and not after you reinstalled, then that is the only thing that springs to mind for it.
Close the game and voice attack
Go to : C:\Users\ <username> \Saved Games\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous
Back up the files contained to a safe location and then delete them from here
Start up ED and go into the game fully (so that you are in ship / on foot / in srv) <--- this is so that files that our VA profile reads on start up are *present* and you don't get any red warning messages
Close the game fully.
Start up VA
Start up the game.as normal1) I reject your reality.... and substitute my own

Well, unfortunately that didn't work. I reset Exploration to default and tried again, no luck. I unchecked everything and added terraforming and High Metal Content and Ice worlds, but I could not get a response from AD-ASTRA. Everything else seems to work ok now, except for using the FS Scanner and receiving a reply. What about Windows Firewall blocking something?

This feature just relies on the journal and doesn't require an active internet connection to do its job. I have noted the issue to be looked at *just in case* other people report it. Just for more information though, what version of the game are you running? ED:Horizons (3.8), ED:Horizons (4.0) or ED: Odyssey (4.0)?1) I reject your reality.... and substitute my own

I am running ED: Odyssey 4.0. I am not seeing any errors in the Event Log and if I make a change in AD-ASTRA it will take effect, but it just seems to be the scanning of the system for bodies and being notified of the type of planet. I installed the Gravity pack the other night and it started notifying me of biological scans while on foot so the I know the process works. Should we try a different license key to reactivate AD=ASTRA?

If it is only that part of AD-ASTRA that is not working (and everything else to do with AD-ASTRA is) then changing a serial key will not change anything, as we do not have different levels of AD-ASTRA functionality according to what you paid for.
It is an all or nothing functionality in this case (either you have AD-ASTRA or you don't)
As I said, I am keeping my ears open and have noted it to be looked at (especially if other people are reporting the issue).
Now, if you were missing audio files (Which is what I would typically think in this case) then I would have expected a message in the VA log window if that was happening (and I am sure that you would have noticed in this case as well).
But as I said, it is something that I have noted to be looked at, as I am unable to reproduce this on my side.
The only other thing that springs to mind is if you are scanning a world that you have previously discovered, and in this case, the journal entry is different so you wouldn't necessarily get the notification in this case.
But again, this is something that I think you would have noticed if you were just rescanning the same planets over and over and over again.1) I reject your reality.... and substitute my own

Can you tell me what triggers AD-ASTRA to provide a response when you scan a world or planet in the list? On that screen there are two sections, the left side is the body list and on the right different options you can select. If I select anything on the right ASTRA will provide a response, but I can't get anything to happen with the bodies on the left. I can change settings throughout the program and turn features on and off and everything works as expected. Under Extra Content I can select Stars and Planets and I get a response when scanned, I can turn it on and off and it works as expected. Maybe I don't have something selected somewhere else in the program that's causing the issue with just this screen within Ad-Astra?
