Updates for current voicepacks

I'm curious about the update schedule for current voice packs... I've just bought the Astra and verity voice packs only to notice that the verity voice pack is quite a bit lighter than Astra so I guess what I'm wondering is if there are plans to bring the other packs up to the level that Astra is at?

The only thing that is really missing (at the moment for Verity) is a "full house" profile. But saying that the galaxapedia/quantum theory/constellations profiles are available in the Themed Extras directory, which can be imported into the "main" Verity profile, which would bring it up to "Full House" level.

In terms of new features, ASTRA will always get them first, and then we will roll them out to other packs.

Side note: Verity has the Solar System tour profile, ASTRA doesn't

brand new to this game and of course voice packs. i purchased the orion one and my question is as regards the functionality of running the ship are they all the same?

They are all the same at the basic level. ASTRA has a few more features *at the moment* but that is because of plugin functionality that we have added to it. This will be rolling out though to all the other packs over time.

i can't seem to get orion to work right as it misses more of my voice commands than it gets correct. I have taken the speech recognition courses twice. I am going to go purchase astra to see if it will make any difference. Thanks Mike

There are some tweaks that you can do in the Voice Attack settings that might help you out, all depending on your mic/speaker setup.

On the Recognition tab of Voice attack Settings, you have Disable Adaptive Recognition and Disable Acoustic Echo Cancellation. Now ticking/unticking them and seeing how it goes can give a notable improvement (some people need it, other people don't YMMV)

Buying ASTRA won't suddenly "improve" your speech recognition with VA though...

you were right about astra not being helpful in changing my very low level of speech recognition results. I also tried your recommendations to no avail. Given the excellent results that i have seen on the approximately 5 hours of tutorials that i have viewed i know the product functions. I just can't seem to figure out what is wrong. I have disabled all the other communication devices and have actually used multiple headsets with some being higher end units but they all yield the same poor results. I just purchased the vive and the gtx 1080 to run the game on but no joy with the voicepacks as voice attack just can't seem to understand me? I just retired as the CEO of a hospital so i am pretty frustrated that this has me so stumped. Thanks for your efforts. Mike

I *personally* run through the training setup (for me) several times (as in 5 or 6 times), with the same headset.

Swapping headsets/microphone used, and even updating sound card drivers can all affect the voice recognition quality, and infact... it is recommended that when you do change a setup, you redo your speech training.

Side note: The more you use voice attack/speech recognition, the better it gets.

You can also tweak the command weight and confidence levels as well... which can help out with this as well (I started off with low quality recognition myself at the start, but over time, it got better)

that helped i went back to the original microphone setup that i did the training on and it worked!!! Now if i can just get the bindings to work with my x53 pro so that everything is coordinated i will be very happy at least until some veteran blows me out of the sky. Thanks again you have been a great resource.

Not a problem.

We *used* to have an X52 pro .bind file, that should be updated and included with new packs from the next release/update *fingers crossed*

Side note: The easiest option is to refer to this list (granted it is for UK QWERTY keyboard layout), and put them in as the keyboard press (in addition to any joystick buttons are set).

Well i feel like i am soon to go on your high maintenance list but can you tell me how to keep my binding changes. i make the change and apply and it work for one or two time at the most and then it reverts back to the original settings?

When you say that it reverts, is this the joystick or keyboard action changing back to default?

the joystick. i am trying to be able to navigate the menu without using the mouse/keyboard so i tried to remap my B button on the joystick to correspond to the space button so i could select from the menu options. I also still need to figure out what button to assign to scroll which i see is the s keyboard key.

That is strange that the joystick commands are reverting... can you try setting up the joystick controls without Voice Attack running, and see how it goes just like that for a short period of time? Just trying to knock out a few variables first of all.
