FAQ for HCS Voice Packs

Hi All!

Welcome to the tech support forum! Below is a list of common/popular questions that we've seen. This post will (hopefully), be a good place to start.

1) I have a Question about <insert subject here>
one of the first steps to take is to search for either the question, or the subject of your question (example, if you have a problem with programming a random command, search for random command). I know this seems silly, but this step may save you from having to post a new topic, especially if a resolution is still being worked on.

2) I want to have a voice pack with <insert actor here>
remember, actors get PAID for their time. the more popular the actor, the higher the fee is likely to be. we do try to have a few special surprises, and as new possibilities emerge, we will share them with you.

3) Will your voice pack work with <insert game here> (EVE, STO, etc)?
Voice Attack is a very powerful program, and can be used on a wide variety of games. if you can imagine it, voice attack will more than likely support it! While this functionality is avaible, and the packs can be used in almost any way imaginable, sadly we cannot always release a profile for the game, but we will always try to help you if you get stuck!

That's all i can think of for now, but expect this list to grow over time!

Here's one that was previously covered in another FAQ that would also be useful here; Can I get a profile already set up with the references to the other AI's?

I believe the answer previously was No, mainly due to everyone having different AI's and already set up keybindings...

But, I have now completed the current collection, and am a little daunted at having to go through 7 different profiles in VA to get them referring to each other ETC... Is there any possibility that such a profile, maybe just for Astra, might be possible for those of us who have got the set?

Ah, wonderful news! I find that fiddling with my VA setup takes a backseat to earning credits (by boiling pirates), and although I can bear maybe up to an hour of fiddling, I tire of it pretty quick and itch to get back into my cockpit!

Just a couple of weeks ago I built a new PC, and the previous one (with all my initially set up VA and voice packs - Astra, Dark and Legend) has been 'retired' over to a friends place for use as a once a week LAN machine... which does mean I get to show off both Elite and VA with voice packs to others, with the minimal switching I set up... but yeah, having splurged and bought the other 4 now, on a new machine, they are all there but I haven't found the time to go through them all to even do the basic switching yet, which is a little imersion breaking... the opposite of what I was going for heh... I look forward to the coming videos, and whatever else might get decided on... personally, I hope that someone could share a profile with at least Astra set up to call all the others for duty, like in Plah's videos!

EDIT: Just a heads up, but check on the Elite: Dangerous reddit from time to time, would you? I'm using it instead of the forum for most things, and voice pack questions have been popping up more regularly recently! ;-D

This is my personal opinion of course and the other admins may disagree, but I think it's a better idea to direct those Redditors here, into our forum. We absolutely must have centralised support for our own product, on our own forum. We need them to come to us - not the other way around - otherwise we'll end up with answers to questions all over the internet, but nobody can find them if they're not here!
