  • ASTRA 2.2 Interaction responses not working+ other issues

It seems that none of the commands that invoke interaction mode are working. Voice Attack shows that the command registered, there was no error, but ASTRA will still not say anything. I'm not extremely concerned about this, but it does take away quite a bit from the experience. I checked to see if the .wav files were missing, but it seems they were all there. I also ran VA as admin, and ran the diagnostics, nothing.

On another note, I'd also like to mention that it seems that some of her commands are missing (could be i'm forgetting some imports or something). I'm using 2.0 Astra Full House - Guardians. According to the description for her on your website, it said she had 3000 different responses. I have a little more than half that. I think This might be related to some of the smaller things I've found she doesn't do. for example; when i was watching the tutorial on how to set up her bindings, you/they simply said "ASTRA" with the response of "Yes captain". I tried that out myself and got nothing, I even made voice attack understand i was saying the word ASTRA and it said that it didn't recognize the command.

So either ASTRA hates my guts, or something is wrong with my pack.

Astra has well over 3500 responses in the pack now. When we say responses, it means actual phrases she can respond with. That doesn't mean we've used every single one of them in the profile though. We give you all the extras to customise and do what you want with them.

When you invoke the interaction mode do you see a timer message appear in va's log window? If you do then it's started fine. What it does is start a timer to randomly talk to you which means she may not say anything at all for a while.

Which profile is it exactly that you are using? The title says 2.2 but you say the profile is 2.0...it matters as they are quite different to each other, once I know I'll take a look at it for you and do some testing.
The Singularity profile - One profile to rule them all and at HCS we bound them

You see, TheThingIs, eventually you'll be allright.

Thank you, your explanation on the responses explains quite a bit. (also nice respond time Thingls!)

I don't see a timer when I invoke the Interaction mode. In case i was missing something i did a basic jump command. (Still probably missed something) I'll add a pic of my VA log. Maybe you'll see something I don't.

I'm pretty sure the profile itself is Astra 2.0, I think i got messed up when i saw the changelog marked as 2.2 but I imagine that's for the beta testers.

To trigger "interaction mode", you first of all say "Interaction Mode On"

It will then in the log show

        Pause for 180 seconds.

Alt-Tabbing out of Elite dangerous will stop the command from running (ie if it is in "pause" mode, then "interaction mode" gets cancelled)
        1) I reject your reality.... and substitute my own
        2) Not to be used when upset... will void warranty
        3) Stoke me a clipper i will be back for dinner
        4) Never tell Gangrel to do anything... he will probably get it wrong
WARNING! Swedish wall-of-text hits you for bork-bork-bork damage!

Seems that even with the game running, The log still does not show at least the *pause for 180 seconds*. Even if I say "Interaction Mode On". Although that will help in the long run, as i didn't know her lines would also be cut when alt-tabbing.

You don't even need the game running to test it out, just have Voice Attack set to active window and then you should be able to more easily check.

But yeah, if "Interaction mode on" is recognised, then the order of action that you see is

            Play a sound
            Run the "random interaction" command

All the "Random interaction" command does is this:

            Pause 180 seconds
            Run "random astra" command
            Pause 600 seconds
            Run "Random astra" command
            Pause 999 Seconds
            Run "random astra" command

((and then repeat the last 2 lines a few more times))

So for YOU this is what you would see:

            "Command recognised"
            <you hear ASTRA say something>
            "Pause for 180 seconds"
<ASTRA pipe up and say something>
            1) I reject your reality.... and substitute my own
            2) Not to be used when upset... will void warranty
            3) Stoke me a clipper i will be back for dinner

I'd argue that it wasn't working a second ago but instead I'll plead ignorant. Thanks for the help and the quick responses, you guys are kicking butt out here.

EDIT: I just found out why it wasn't working. like you said alt tabbing would stop the process, what i didn't realize is that i'd first have to turn off interaction mode and turn it back on again... so basically I forgot the universal reset button.
