  • Safety Jump works intermittently

    "SAFETY JUMP"
This command tells ASTRA to jump to the next system and to zero out your thrusters before reaching the next star - thus stopping your ship from rushing head-long to a fire'y death.

    ISSUE:
I use your "safety Jump" command every time I make a jump - however (and this is an issue that pre-dates the Singularity Profile), it only works about a third of the time.
I don't know if anyone else has reported this intermittent behavior. I searched the forum and couldn't find any previous mentions.

So, I normally keep my finger on the "x" key to stop myself from rushing into the star, just in case - which is always a good practice anyway.
But it would be nice if this were addressed at some point.

I can not vote because I never knew there was such a command I will try it out and get back to you. This is an example of the lack of an idiots guide to the galaxy manual for voice packs.

I would love to find a programmer's guide for how to modify the Singularity Profile - although there are a few limited ones (pre-Singularity), nothing detailed.
Here's an older post (over a year old) on how to make a basic mod..

It's officially invoked using the "Explorer jump" command.
I just found an older post (from 2016) on this here.. http://forum.hcsvoicepacks.com/forum...-at-new-system.

Apparently it comes up from time to time - I did a google search.
HCS (I guess) must be aware of this one.. maybe they just don't care?

I have the opposite problem - I have never used the Safety Jump command, but I regularly arrive with zero throttle - normally on the first (or only) jump of a route, or when engaging supercruise - which is incredibly annoying.

"engage jump" does not zero the throttle

"engage system jump" does zero the throttle

"explorer jump" zeros the throttle and fires a disco scan

safety jump was removed some time ago but we are looking at adding it back as what we have now seems to be causing some confusion
The Singularity profile - One profile to rule them all and at HCS we bound them

You see, TheThingIs, eventually you'll be allright.

So when the Invoke system is on ("Ready to jump?" - "Yes please.") should it zero throttle or not? And can I set it to my preference (which would be not)

Hi DeadMeatGF, I always do throttle on zero.... and move slowely forward to do a fuel scoop OR - when in a hurry - swing aorund the sun..
... it's so dark around me!
Thx to my crew: ASTRA, ORION, ELI, KATE, KSAI, JAZZ, CARINA, MIDNIGHT, EDEN, CLEO and VASCO...
...and someone brought this fr***** bird on the ship http://forum.hcsvoicepacks.com/core/...ilies/wink.png.

Thanks for that - kinda avoids the question, though, I just need to know whether I can set an invoked jump to never throttle down or if I have to stop using them.

"engage jump" doesn't zero the throttle unless you have expanded explorer mode on

It's not "Engage Jump" I'm asking about, it's the Invoke Mode - i.e:

Helm (I think) asks if you'd like them to prepare to jump (or it's variant)
                      You say "Yes please"
The AI puts power to engines, full thrusters, boosts, repeat until clear of the mass lock, and engages the jump drive.
When you arrive, it drops the thrusters to zero.

Expanded explorer mode is definitely off (I checked!)

the invoke one always does a 0 throttle safety jump
