Basic ASTRA HOTAS sounds not playing

So I bought the voice pack today and set up all of the secondary keybindings in Elite. I made sure to run VA as an admin and that windows media player was the default for the sound files. I seem to have the commands working just fine and activating things properly but there the files don't seem to be playing anything.

One thing to check is to make sure that Force LegacyAudio is not checked in the Voice Attack options window. I have read that some people have had no sound when this was checked.
