  • Singularity - timing out

So I currently own 5 of your voicepacks and am using the paid version of your Voice Attack product. Overall, it works well. I do notice at times I will say a command after a length of time of not speaking to voice attack and get no response. I try multiple times and then realize it has timed out. Typically this is after about 5 minutes of not using it. I have gone into the protocol override options and set the timeout to 999, but it still occurs after only a few minutes. Any suggestions? I fix it for now by saying wake up, but then have to wait for it to initialize, which can be inconvenient if a pirate shows up and I am trying to switch systems quickly. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

What type of headset/mic setup are you using? Just curious because the "Time out" feature (for "stand by"/"on my mark" commands) is purely a duration for how long VA should wait before the command gets cancelled. This time out feature doesn't affect any other commands in our voicepack

Now saying that, you *could* be suffering a case of Windows deciding to "power down" unused USB devices (after x period of time)

Thank you for replying. I am using a Logitech G430 USB headset. I don't believe it is a Windows issue as the Voice Attack program will not respond to voice commands, but if I say "wake up" I will hear a beep sound and then the current voicepack will say something along the lines of "initiating" and then a few other things and it will go back to working normally. This is more a matter of Voice Attack itself just going into a sort of sleep mode that I am able to wake up using the wake up command via voice.

Again, this only occurs if I am out exploring and scanning a system which takes me a few minutes. During the scanning process, several minutes can go by. Voice attack will work fine when i first log into ED. This only seems to occur after lengthy voids in conversation.

just curious, but does the mic icon get crossed out when it "goes to sleep"?
