I start the automatic HCS updater when VoiceAttack loads, it says "Download started", a few seconds later it says "download completed, updating voice packs", and then absolutely nothing happens. It's been sitting like this for 20 minutes. Is there a way to manually update without going through the automatic update feature? Or is there a way to force it to complete?

Re-run the installer for any of your existing voicepacks (ie ASTRA, Eden, Jazz). That will download the HCSTools and run the update the other way1) I reject your reality.... and substitute my own
2) Not to be used when upset... will void warranty
3) Stoke me a clipper i will be back for dinner
4) Never tell Gangrel to do anything... he will probably get it wrong

I have a similar problem. Tried the above, re-ran installer for ASTRA. Restarted VoiceAttack - is still pops up updates available. After download, it fails. Cannot proceed can only exit VoiceAttack.

I am also getting this exact error. It occurred only after adding the beta for "AD-ASTRA" voicepack. If I uninstall the AD-ASTRA voicepack, the error goes away and the update succeeds. I think the beta for AD-ASTRA is causing the problem.Originally posted by zedszed View Post

The updater downloads updates and then fails saying it can't create the backups? how do I proceed

the auto updater is broken in that version...installing any of your packs again will fix it, don't use the customiser for this update. Ad-Astra needs to be re-downloaded and installed.The Singularity profile - One profile to rule them all and at HCS we bound them
