  • HCS or Voice Attack problem?

    Hi guys, got a repetitive problem that keeps crashing VA when in Elite Dangerous.

    Apologies if this is VA and not HCS plugin but could do with some help as it's beyond me!

    Just noticed another problem.....when I enter the customiser and try to generate a missing binds report it just hangs indefinitely.

    Clicking the window after a minute or two reports 'Voiceattack is not responding' and I have to close it down

    I've noticed a few mentions of this same problems both here and elsewhere and none of those proposed solutions work (i.e. cannot see any drop down box and set it to active window for instance)

    Really hope someone can help....this is driving me nuts!

      Okay guys, just got this back from Gary one of the Admins at the Voiceattack forum.....

      "What is happening is there is an error in the HCS plugin that you're running. The error is indicating that a piece of code is trying to be accessed, but given the state of things that code (or object) does not exist. This is usually from a situation where a condition arises that has not yet been considered. Since it's emanating from an HCS plugin call, there's nothing that I am able to do about it from this end other than to refer you over to HCS. Their folks come through here every now and then and answer questions, but the fastest route to resolving your issue would be to contact them directly."

      .....I've done a fresh re-install of VA (twice in fact), a fresh re-install of 'Celeste' and again with 'Astra' (both re-downloaded from my links sent by you). Is this a known problem with the plugin????

      I'm pretty okay with these installs as I've done them several times without issue until now.

          Okay I think I found a workaround......Astra was configured to automatically refuel, restock etc upon landing, this was the point at which it seemed to crash several times.

          Turned that option off in the customiser and voila! no more crashes after several landings

          There is still the obvious problem remaining though but after seeing the pitiful lack of attention here I'm not at all confident that it will be resolved any time soon

            What the hell is going on around here? (answering my own question....but obviously very little!)

            I've been a long time user, purchasing Astra then Celeste and now subscribed to Ad-Astra, and I'm begining to regret it.

            This is supposed to be a support forum....but it isn't is it....four days and not a single reply.

              Sorry, I have been dealing with the death of my Father (passed away last Saturday), so I have been out of the loop.

              In the meanwhile, Are you running the 64bit version of Voice Attack?
              1) I reject your reality.... and substitute my own
              2) Not to be used when upset... will void warranty
              3) Stoke me a clipper i will be back for dinner
              4) Never tell Gangrel to do anything... he will probably get it wrong
