I always change a game's default keybinds. First and foremost I use ESDF for movement, which invariably has to change from defaults these days. Before purchasing a voice pack, I'm wondering how much work it will be to make these changes with every pack update. I am basically familiar with Voice Attack, and have created profiles for Elite Dangerous in the past. When I download an HCS Voice Pack, I assume it comes with its own Voice Attack profile(s), correct? So presumably I'll have to go through and change keybinds. I do use HOTAS, and it wouldn't be a big deal to keep WASD default here because I don't fly with the keyboard, but with something in the future like Star Citizen, which has FPS elements, I will definitely have to change to ESDF. So here are my direct questions:
1. With each pack update, will I then need to replace/update my Voice Attack profile and therefore go through the manual process of changing the keybinds to match my custom in-game binds?
2. How often are the packs updated?
3. How much effort would go into this for, say, ten keybinds? I guess what I'm wondering is whether for each keybind I will have to modify several profile entries or if they are all basically under one entry but with multiple variations? I think this is basically just a matter of Multipart Commands - if they are structured this way, no big deal. Maybe another way to ask this: how many commands are in the profiles when collapsed versus expanded in the Voice Attack editor?
Thanks!
