Didn't know where to place this, so i just have a few questions about the voice packs and a few other thing maybe.

With the Personal response pack, what names are available and can the names be usernames?
To the extent of the knowledge of Astronomy, Quantum Theory and other things it knows, Will these be updated for new theories, stars and phenomenon? Also, what is the extent of the knowledge, is there a list?
I'd also like to see a list of what commands the pack can do.

Onto the game, I have a terrible time with docking with larger stations, the ones you have to go inside for, Can this process be automated, without the module needed to automate docking?, I have seen youtube videos, showing that the ship can he automatically steered out of these stations, I'm just curious how this is achieved, If the answer is no on docking with the station.

With the Personal response pack, what names are available and can the names be usernames? It's a completely personalised pack - you can ask for it to call you anything you want!

To the extent of the knowledge of Astronomy, Quantum Theory and other things it knows, Will these be updated for new theories, stars and phenomenon? Also, what is the extent of the knowledge, is there a list? The list is something like every entry in an encyclopedia about space... Plus a load of stuff about the ships in Elite... There is no list, do you know how much information there is about space?!

I'd also like to see a list of what commands the pack can do. There are over 1,000 responses for Astra, and almost as many for the 6 others... Plus, they like some things to be a surprise, and listing every command and reply would ruin that to an extent... But anything you can bind to your keyboard, Astra and the others will carry out, and there are even some macro's included - such as "Prepare for Takeoff" - exit menu if open, go to launch, hit enter - "Take Off" - go up 30 meters and retract landing gear - "Request Docking" - Requests dosking for you... and so on :-)


Onto the game, I have a terrible time with docking with larger stations, the ones you have to go inside for, Can this process be automated, without the module needed to automate docking?, I have seen youtube videos, showing that the ship can he automatically steered out of these stations, I'm just curious how this is achieved, If the answer is no on docking with the station. - The answer is no - if you see people "Auto-Docking" they are using the module... going out of the dock is a little easier, but isn't possible with every ship! Due to some ship going slower than others, you would need to test and adjust if your ship doesn't end up right in the middle of the station once the 'Take off' command is issued - if it's not aligned with the entrance/exit, then it will 'auto-crash' into the spacestation just wide of the exit, and when the countdown hits 0 you will get shot at...

Go watch the tutorials on youtube, and some of the stuff PLAH! has - but take note, PLAH! has spent a LOT of time setting things up for his personal use - many of the things he showcases can be done with the packs, but he neglects to mention that because it's a personal setup a lot of the stuff won't work as you see him doig ot of the box... IMO it should, but as they have said, they can't tell exactly which packs you have, so can't really integrate them into each other without ruining the pack for people who only have 1 of them...

I will be sugesting a few things yet, and this forum has a way to go, but keep using it and we'll be able to point newer people at questions that have already been answered!

And very good knowledge it is too! Many of us, who try to help on here, have picked things up with the Voice Packs as we go along and learned from the videos and others who have helped us. As time goes on this forum will be a mine of useful information and that is down to the helpful and friendly folks who take the time to share their experience. Paul has made a fabulous product and personally, I feel we 'ain't seen nothing yet'.

You can choose between: Commander + Just Name, Captain + Just Name, Just Name, Master + Just Name, Lord + Just Name, Lady + Just Name, lieutenant + Just Name, Chief + Just Name. You also get to choose the ships AI name and your commander name. You are available to use your commander name as the requested name to be used (I have).

If you request something profane as a name though, we will let you know about it.

Yes, quite possibly we will update these as theories get updated. However, it is a time consuming process, especially as we have to make sure that the description is NOT too long. If you think that something additional should be included please just ask.

Just as a rough idea:

We list 85ish constellations (the most well known ones, and a galaxies)
The galaxapedia has 225ish descriptions of various galactic phenonomen ranging from absolute zero to the big bang and black holes, through to the TNO's and variable stars. No Wolf Rayet star though. I will poke the boss man and tell him what needs to be said.
Quantum Theory is a composed of 45 responses which cover the basics and most well known "commonly accepted" theories as they stand right now. It *isn't* conclusive nor exhaustive. Nor can we draw pictures to show the theories either (which some parts really DO need to be honest).

I'd also like to see a list of what commands the pack can do.

That will be a long list.

(some of them range from 500 commands all the way up to over 1200 commands for the "larger" packs).

But the easy way to view is like this: Is there an ingame keybind for it?

If yes, then with the exception of the galactic/system map scrolling we have it covered.

And our "beta profiles" cover more automation, and the linking together of commands into one action.

Or profiles don't automatically dock for you. The docking computer would be the only route available to do this.

The youtube videos where you see someone automatically undocking? That took a lot of ship destructions to get correct as he had to get the timings all correct for how long buttons should be held down for and in what order. And this only worked if his ship was not carrying any cargo. As soon as he put in cargo, it all went to pot.

However, we do have (in the beta profile) a handover command, where we have automated you just lifting off the pad. Anything more than that is not worth the insurance claims that we would indoubtedly get thrown towards us...

Which is why we stuck it in the beta profile.
