No sound after computer restarts

was using the basic profile (wanted to get used to the basics first) I think the problem was that voice attack was looking in the wrong place for some reason.
The good news i have it fixed now!

iv been checking and it looks like my computer is moving the sound files when it restarts. i just need to work out where its putting them and why!

Unless it's something funky to do with Windows 8 as Gangrel explained, there should be no reason why any sound files would be moving around. If you can confirm this is definitely happening, get your anti-virus running and see if it pops up anything naughty. Non-system files being moved around is unlikely to be caused by malware, but it's worth checking just to be safe.

when i shut down my computer and switched my computer back on the sounds will no longer work, the command goes through just fine but no sound is played. I deleted everything and reinstalled and it seemed that it worked fine again but when i restarted my computer the sound stopped working again

From what you have said here it sounds like you are using the Beta profile? If that is the case, you will find that upon first starting it up, voice commands will not work (although they still appear in the Voice Attack feed) and their respective sounds do not play. This is because the condition variables have not been set and must be activated with a specific command. Once that is done, everything should work properly! Please see the Beta Profile Guide for more information about this.

If you are new to using Voice Attack and our voice packs, we recommend starting with the Basic profiles first as these work solidly without issues such as this one, and will help you get to grips with how everything works together.

That is actually very worrying. If you installed voice attack into its default location, and our voice packs in the same place, it means that it is moving the files out of the program directory...

Which is one thing it *shouldn't* be doing in the first place.

Are you Running Windows 8 or 8.1?

Just curious, because it could *possibly* be due to the "fast boot" option in Windows 8/Windows 8.1 where a shutdown is not like how Windows XP/Vista/7 used to shutdown. And so as a result, when you start the computer back up, Voice Attack is not properly restarting.

I am not 100% sure, but I believe that one of the most recent beta of Voice Attack fixes this problem.

The other solution is to shut down Voice Attack manually before you shutdown your computer.

Hi i installed voice attack as well as ASTRA and DARK they seemed to work great and i was really enjoying them however i have found that when i shut down my computer and switched my computer back on the sounds will no longer work, the command goes through just fine but no sound is played.
