  • Panel tracking without using voice commands

Most of us find navigating the panels a bit cumbersome when using voice commands, it's simply faster and easier to use keys or joystick. The problem with this is that we can't track that you moved them and then the request docking or other panel commands get all messed up when you did. We can actually do this but because it requires some setting up by the user we have always disabled it. Here is a guide we threw together for those of you who want to give it a go.

this is the Singularity section so the information is for the Singularity profile only. We do recommend you switch to Singularity as we will be doing so anyway soon

What about x52 users where the panels are opened by holding a "UI Focus" keybind (pinky trigger) then pressing the hat in a specific direction, then using the other hat to navigate between tabs?

This seems cool so far, have noticed some odd behaviour, I'm not sure if it is being triggered by TrackIR or joystick though.

The issue is that it seems to lose track of whether the left/right panels are open or not. So I can use "Contacts" to open the left panel, then use my exit button on the joystick to return to normal cockpit view. Then if I try using "Contacts" again nothing happens. If I then use "left panel" followed by "Contacts" it will quit out of the panel.
When this happens I can look at the panel using TrackIR and use the voice commands and it will switch between the tabs fine.

The problem this causes is when I use "Contacts" or any other command and it ignores it, it still records the tab switches, so when I do go back into the panel the voice commands are out of sync with the tabs.

I never really used these commands before making the changes in this thread so I can't say if this was an issue previously. It feels like it may just need an entry to track usage of the UI back button to set the left/right panel status to false.
